Help: Volunteer for flea market
The Snohomish Senior Center needs volunteers to help set up the flea market from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at 506 Fourth St.
Vendors can still get a space by paying $25.

Help: Remove invasive plants
Volunteers are needed to help remove invasive plants from 9 a.m. to noon, Aug. 4 at the recreation office in Forest Park, 802 E Mukilteo Blvd. Tools, gloves and refreshments will be provided at the event. People also can learn about ecology and habitat conservation.
Reservations are encouraged, but not required.

The Big Brothers Big Sisters of Snohomish County is looking for sponsors and items to auction at its annual Dream Builders Auction on Sept. 29, Lynnwood Convention Center, 3711 196th St. SW.

Eat: Veterans hold breakfast fundraiser
The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7392 is hosting a breakfast from 10 a.m. to noon Sunday at 3037 N Goldie Road, Oak Harbor.
The breakfast menu includes pancakes, eggs and hash browns among other items.
The cost is $7 for adults, $4 for seniors and children under 12.
All proceeds are to benefit the Post programs.

Attend: Carnival benefits scholarships
The Day Camp Children's Carnival is being held from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, at the Frances Anderson Center Field, 700 Main St.
The carnival is intended to raise funds for the City of Edmonds Youth Scholarship Fund.
People can buy a hot dog, enter to win raffle prizes and enjoy carnival games.

Participate: Walk for Japanese Gulch
A non-competitive 5K run and walk is being organized to promote health, fitness and awareness of the Japanese Gulch. The event is scheduled to start at 7 a.m. Aug. 11, Rosehill Community Center, 304 Lincoln Ave. in Mukilteo.
A social event with refreshments being provided is set after the event.
Registration fee is $25. People can register online at http://trailamuk.eventbrite.com or with checks payable to the Japanese Gulch Group sent to P.O. Box 1221, Mukilteo WA, 98275.
Proceeds are to pay for the operations of the Japanese Gulch Group.
