The Boston Red Sox traded Brent Lillibridge (above) to the Cleveland Indians on Tuesday.

CLEVELAND -- The Cleveland Indians have acquired infielder-outfielder Brent Lillibridge from the Boston Red Sox for minor-league pitcher Jose De La Torre.
Lillibridge, a former Jackson High School and University of Washington standout, has played every position in the major leagues except pitcher and catcher. He is expected to join the Indians on Wednesday.
The 28-year-old Lillibridge has a career .212 average in 295 games for Atlanta, the Chicago White Sox and Boston. He was dealt by Chicago to the Red Sox on June 24 for infielder Kevin Youkilis.
To make room on the 40-man roster, Cleveland transferred third baseman Lonnie Chisenhall from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day DL. Chisenhall has a broken right forearm.
De La Torre, a right-hander, was 8-1 with a 2.91 ERA in 34 games between Class AAA Columbus and Class AA Akron.
