Reserve your tee time now: A Snohomish woman, Ximena Rajala, is working to open a nine-hole minigolf course at the Everett Mall, even as the mall's owners face foreclosure and the mall struggles to find tenants.

But considering the mall's recent vacancies, including the bankrupt and liquidated Borders bookstore, Rajala might have room to think bigger, like Jack-Nicklaus-designed-18-hole-golf-course-with-resort-and-pro-shop bigger.

Keep calm and carry on: GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney, R-Cayman Islands, in London for the opening of the Summer Olympics, caused a brief stir among his hosts when he questioned whether Britain was prepared to pull off the Summer Games without a hitch.

The remark earned the United States its first medal in the London Olympics as Romney was presented with Gold in the 300-meter gaffe.

Don't know much about history: On this day in 1909 aviation pioneer Orville Wright flew himself and passenger in a test of the U.S. Army's first airplane above Fort Myer, Va., for a hour and 12 minutes.

Lt. Frank Lahm, however, almost missed the flight when TSA agents searched his carry-on bag and found a bottle of shampoo that was larger than 3 ounces.
