SEATTLE — A public memorial for J.P. Patches is planned for Sept. 8 at McCaw Hall in Seattle.
Chris Wedes, the Pacific Northwest’s iconic clown, died July 22 after a long illness. Wedes lived in Edmonds.

The memorial is set for 11 a.m. Suggested donation at the door is $5, with all proceeds going to Wedes’ favorite charity, the Seattle Children’s Hospital Foundation.

McCaw Hall is at 321 Mercer St., Seattle. More details about the memorial are expected to be announced in August.
