Janet Leister has been named new general manager of the Washington Dairy Products Commission. She replaces Steve Matzen, who accepted a position earlier this year with the Northwest Dairy Association, the dairy farmers' cooperative that owns Darigold. Leister led efforts to introduce state products to global markets and has developed agricultural and food export plans. Previously, she was with the State of Hawaii, Department of Agriculture.
1st Security Bank has appointed Barb Huber to the position of loan officer. Huber, a resident of Bothell, will work out of the bank's home-lending headquarters in Mountlake Terrace. She has 36 years of mortgage experience, most recently with Sterling Savings, which she joined when it was Golf Savings Bank. Huber was also with Continental Savings Bank, now HomeStreet Bank, for nearly 24 years.
Holly Oakley has been named business-banking manager for Wells Fargo in northern Washington. She will direct about 11 business-banking team members and oversee operations for offices in Everett and Bellingham. Oakley, a 26-year financial services veteran, is a Washington native and has lived in Snohomish County for 25 years. She serves as board treasurer with the Everett Public Schools Foundation.
NW Security & Sound has appointed Adrian Black the new installations manager. Black is a licensed local security system expert with more than nine years of experience.

Walmart has started hiring for full- and part-time positions for the new location in Lynnwood. The store will employ approximately 90 people. Curtis Vittozzi has been named store manager. The new store, slated to open in late October, will be the second Walmart Neighborhood Market in Washington. Former state liquor store Evergreen Liquor & Wine in Everett celebrated its grand reopening last weekend. The business on Evergreen Way had closed during the transition to privatization. Kitimat Inc. of Shoreline purchased the business at auction and rehired many employees.
Office Depot has remodeled the Evergreen Way store to improve the experience for customers.

According to the Washington State Department of Revenue, property tax revenue increased 1.6 percent to $9.3 billion in 2012, with $37 million of the $143 million increase over 2011 stemming from new construction added to the tax rolls.
Washington Secretary of State Sam Reed honored Snohomish County Auditor Carolyn Weikel with the Auditor of the Year award July 19 at the Washington State Association of County Auditors' annual conference in Ocean Shores. Weikel was recognized for outstanding service to Washington elections and for her reputation as an impartial administrator of Snohomish County's elections process.
