Man hit by car, seriously injured in Monroe

MONROE -- A Bothell man, 40, was seriously injured Wednesday after being struck by a car in Monroe.
The crash happened about 7:10 a.m. along W. Main Street, just west of Highway 522.
The victim was working at a construction site there and had just parked his dump truck and gotten out, Monroe police spokeswoman Debbie Willis said.
A Monroe man, 31, was westbound in a Lincoln Town Car. The car left the roadway, hit several construction barrels and then struck the victim and his truck.
The victim was taken to Harborview Medical Center with a head injury and broken legs, Willis said.
The cause of the crash remained under investigation.
