Cries of fraud are what's fraudulent

I've been astounded by recent letters regarding voting fraud. Never before in recent memory have I seen so much misinformation, propaganda and outright lies.
There is no voter fraud problem! Yes, an occasional voter registration card gets mailed to a dog or to someone deceased. Errors like these have been happening for decades and have absolutely no bearing on any election. A voter fraud rate has been measured by the Brennan Center for Justice at .00009%.
This whole fake voter problem was hatched during the 1980s. Seems the Republicans figured out they couldn't beat the Dems at voter registration so they adopted another strategy -- figure out ways to make it harder for people (especially minority, poor, i.e. Democrats) to vote. And then say you're doing all of this to protect our elections and preserve our Constitution and democracy. Brilliant. And diabolical.
Where were the letters after the real voting fraud of electronic voting in the 2004 election? You know, the one in Ohio where some precincts reported a 120 percent voter turnout or in Florida where there were 7.59 million votes counted yet only 7.35 million people voted. Bush won both states.
And to those who find it hard to believe that some people don't have ID for booze and cigarettes (note the insinuation) or for a bank account, or to buy a car or house -- did it ever occur to you that there are people in this country who don't own a house, a car or have a bank account? They have no ID because many of the 46 million people in poverty don't need one to survive. Your ignorance and insensitivity is especially telling.
So please, spare us your fake patriotic concern and quit crying wolf. You come across like partisan sheep that only care about your party winning, apparently at any cost. That's the true fraud.
