Olympic yard darts, anyone?

Say it ain't so, Chou: The Badminton World Federation has disqualified eight badminton players from China, South Korea and Indonesia at the London Olympics after it alleged they attempted to throw matches in order to get a better draw in the sport's round robin competition.

We think the Badminton World Federation should reconsider; just because you're holding a racket in one hand and a can of beer in the other doesn't mean you're trying to lose.

Throw bodies, not matches: After an eight-year absence, World Wrestling Entertainment is bringing its professional wrestlers back to Everett and Comcast Arena for a steel-cage match on Oct. 5.

As a warm-up to the main event, the wrestlers will play a round robin of steel-cage, no-holds-barred, hard-fought badminton where the outcome is not predetermined. Honest.

All over except the cleanup: A strike against Waste Management by its truck drivers and now in its second week, may be over with a tentative agreement announced Wednesday night (above).

And not a moment too soon for negotiators for the company and the union: Their customers had an ample supply of rotten vegetables at hand.
