Seafair, music, outdoor fun and more weekend ideas

Beat the heat: The weather this weekend is looking fabulously warm. Find a spot to cool off in our list of water parks and swimming pools here. Blue Angels and hydroplanes: This weekend is full of hydroplanes and the Blue Angels showing off their speed and skill. Most events are at Genesee Park at Lake Washington. Click here for more information.

Go to the fair: The Stanwood-Camano Community Fair opens on Friday and runs through Sunday. Country star Collin Raye will perform as well as children’s entertainer Tim Noah, along with many other acts. You’ll also find a parade, carnival, games, food and a lot more. Hear some music Darius Rucker, formerly the lead singer for Hootie and the Blowfish, will perform on Sunday in Tulalip. There’s a lot of other great music this weekend, too, including the Last Summer on Earth Tour on Friday night at Marymoor and the Vans Warped Tour on Saturday, also at Marymoor. See a movie outdoors: Several cities are showing outdoor movies this weekend, including “E.T.,” “The Muppets,” and “Cars 2.” Check our list here to see what interests you.

For the kids: The Awesome August Kids Days and Preschool Fair is 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Country Village, 23718 Bothell-Everett Highway, Bothell. Childcare providers from all around the Northshore area will do crafts, demos and activities for kids, as well as share information for parents and families looking for the right placement for their children. There will also be train and pony rides, caricature artists, face painting, entertainment and more.

Enjoy art: The Index Arts Festival is Saturday. In addition to a variety of vendors selling their artwork, you’ll find lots of live music, craft areas for the kids, food and more. Read more in our story here.
