SEATTLE — A Canadian tourist calls his experience using a restroom at Seattle’s Pike Place Market degrading, humiliating and disgusting.
The tourist from Toronto, Shahrukh Pestonji, was in Seattle last week with his family. He wrote a letter to the mayor and The Seattle Times complaining about the short doors on the stalls in the restroom at the popular tourist destination.
He said while he was seated, dozens of people came into the restroom and several made eye contact over the stall door.
The market’s director of programs and marketing, Kelly Lindsay, says the door height is a deterrent to unwanted activity in the stalls. The market has no plans to change them.
