Marvin the Martian’s waiting: NASA’s latest mission to Mars, the Curiosity rover, is scheduled to land on the Red Planet late Sunday night. A new NASA video that has gone viral on YouTube, describes its descent to the surfaces as “7 minutes of terror,” as it slows from 13,000 mph to its landing at 2 mph hour.
A follow-up video, “14 minutes of terror,” will show NASA scientists sweating it out as they wait to find out if the rover is more than a $2.5 billion pile of scrap littered across the martian surface.
