The United Way of Snohomish County is looking for volunteers, projects and nonprofits that wish to be part of the 19th annual Days of Caring.
The event is scheduled for Sept. 21 and 22. The deadline to register projects is Aug. 31. Volunteers have until Sept. 12 to sign up for projects.

Play pentanque; help food bank: The Edmonds Petanque Club (pronounced pay-tonk) plans its second Food Bank Tournament at 10 a.m. Sunday at the Civic Center Playfield, 230 Sixth Ave. N., in downtown Edmonds. Registration, which opens at 9 a.m., is $20 per person for this doubles tournament. Three-quarters of the proceeds will go to the Edmonds Food Bank. With a shortage of peanut butter, Edmonds Food Bank director Peggy Kennedy requests that participants include a jar of the nutty spread in their giving this year.

The Granny's Attic Sale continues Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. across the street from the Lynnwood Senior Center, 19000 44th Ave. W.
All proceeds benefit the Lynnwood Senior Center Advisory Committee. Sale items include furniture, clothes, sporting goods, housewares and more. Donations to the sale can be dropped off before the sale; for pick-up of large items, call Alice Wikene 425-776-4481 or Myrtle Guild 425-248-3999.
