This time we are focusing on Seattle band Lemolo, which is made up of Meagan Grandall and Kendra Cox. These two have been busy lately with touring, playing local shows and festivals like Capitol Hill Block Party. Lemolo also just released their new album, The Kaleidoscope, which local record stores have been struggling to keep in stock. Rightfully so, the album is beautiful from start to finish.
Lemolo performed at Doe Bay Fest last year and will again this year. When I got the chance to ask Meagan to talk about the Doe Bay experience this is what she had to say:
“Performing at Doe Bay Festival last summer was one of the most moving experiences we have had in our journey as a band thus far. We performed on Friday night in the 100 person capacity yoga studio, and had no idea what to expect coming into our performance. To our surprise, the room immediately packed in once the doors opened, and those people that couldn't get in crowded around the windows outside. We were surrounded by so many smiling faces, eager to soak our music in and sing along. The energy in the room was pure love, and that was my first experience with such a giving audience. I have never had so much fun performing as I did on that night.
We felt really honored to perform there last summer, and feel even more honored to be invited back a second time. Not only is performing there a very unique experience, but being an audience member for all of the shows throughout the weekend is spectacular too. There are intimate performances happening all around you. And there is also a slip-n-slide, which I am very much looking forward to this year.”
