The front-page headline next to the masthead in Thursday's paper is offensive on many levels. "Practice your cough: The fishing's too good to be stuck at work," How does that sound to the many in our community who dearly wish for a job? To the young sport fishers who we hope become diligent workers and good honest citizens? To deserving employers who expect integrity from their employees?

Promoting feigned illness for a day of recreation? What are you thinking? This is not funny and it's not the right message. What about: "Fishing looks great for the weekend, plan an outing with your kids!"?
