MALTBY -- No one was injured Thursday morning when a semi-truck trailer rolled over on an onramp in the Maltby area.

The accident happened just before 8:30 a.m. as the driver was turning onto westbound Highway 522 from southbound Highway 9, south of Maltby, said trooper Keith Leary with the Washington State Patrol.

The trailer was carrying about 17 tons of scrapped appliances, Leary said. The driver, 40, of Seabeck, was headed to a recycling facility in Tacoma.

No other vehicles were involved. The ramp was blocked for hours as crews cleaned up debris.

The cause of the accident was under investigation.
