Man struck by car on I-5 near Marysville dies

MARYSVILLE -- A Seattle man was killed Sunday after being struck by car on I-5 south of Marysville.
The man, identified by the Washington State Patrol as Mark A. Wolf, reportedly was in a 1963 Chevy Impala that ran out of gas on the freeway shortly after 1 a.m.
The car was parked on the right shoulder of southbound I-5 near Highway 529. Wolf reportedly got out of the vehicle and was standing in roadway when he was struck by a Toyota Corolla, according to the State Patrol.
The Toyota driver, a 64-year-old Snohomish man, then crashed into the Impala.
It's unclear if Wolf was driving the Impala. The State Patrol reported that there was another person in the car, but he or she had walked away. It's unclear if that person had left to get gas.
Wolf, 41, was taken to Seattle's Harborview Medical Center where he later died.
The Snohomish man also was hospitalized. An update of his condition was not available.
The crash remains under investigation.
