EVERETT — Military wives and moms were given makeovers to prepare for the homecoming of sailors aboard the USS Nimitz.
Absolut Hair Salon and Makeup Bar on Sunday offered five women new looks consisting of haircuts, hair color, makeup and waxing services.
The salon worked with the Team Nimitz Family Readiness Group and Royale European Skincare of Lake Stevens to host the event.
Each woman submitted a “before” image, along with their personal story and a small essay on why they should receive the makeover.
The winners were Colleen Brunelle, Theresa Elam, Belinda Smartt, Jean Taylor and Kristen Valenzuela.
The women were each given a $400 beauty gift bag of hair products, makeup and gift cards towards future services.
They also received a dinner out at Terracotta Red in Everett.
The Nimitz is tentatively scheduled to pull into its pier today in Everett.
