Motorcyclist killed in crash on North Cascades Highway

BELLINGHAM -- A 35-year-old Mount Vernon man was killed Sunday when he crashed his motorcycle on the North Cascades Highway east of Diablo.

The State Patrol told The Bellingham Herald Sky Allen Suiter was eastbound on state Highway 20 when he lost control of his motorcycle. He crashed on a curve at Milepost 136 near Ross Lake in southeastern Whatcom County.

The accident report says Suiter was riding too fast for conditions,.

Patrol spokeswoman Laurie Prettyman the accident backed up traffic on the heavily traveled two-lane highway through the mountain pass for at least two hours.
