Vote: Who will win divisions in high school football?

High school football teams are gearing up for the coming season. We want to know who you think will come out on top in each division.

Wesco North 4A
It's a little early, but we want your opinion: Who will win this year's new-look Wesco North 4A?

Snohomish, which came on strong at the end of last season? Or how about Mount Vernon, which is moving up to 4A and back to Wesco but returns a solid core of players, including quarterback Bennett Gibson.

There's also Lake Stevens and Arlington, two of the better teams in Wesco a year ago who will be dealing with plenty of roster turnover. And don't forget Monroe, which advanced to the playoffs for the first time in 19 years last year.




Wesco South 4A
Not a lot of changes in Wesco South 4A except Lynnwood moves up to 4A and joins the former five members.

The Royals also have a new coach -- Adam Fermstad -- and boast one of the best players in Wesco in lineman Andrew Basham.

Defending Wesco South champ Edmonds-Woodway has the electrifying Desmond Young. Jackson retools after losing QB Sam Brown, RB Trai Patrick and WR Andrew Dodd and Mariner lost RB KeiVarae Russell to Notre Dame.




Wesco North 3A
This year Wesco 3A, like 4A, has been split into north and south and most of the changes occur in the north.

Stanwood and Marysville Pilchuck both move down to 3A and the Spartans have a new coach -- Doug Trainor -- to boot. Both teams figure to make some noise in their new conference.

Everett will be reloading after losing QB Riley Ayers and RB Blake Williams and Oak Harbor, which finished second in Wesco 3A last season, should be contenders with QB Ian Kolste and a stout offensive and defensive line returning.

Marysville Getchell should be more competitive with a year of experience.




Wesco South 3A
Not a ton of change in Wesco South 3A ... even the biggest rivalry in Wesco 3A over the past season (Glacier Peak and Meadowdale) stays intact.

Both the Grizzlies and Mavericks seem poised to compete for a championship again but don't count out Mountlake Terrace, which has impact players in RB DeVante Downs and DB Mason Stone.

Shorecrest lost QB Ted Hammond and Shorewood lost RB Eugene Holley but both Shoreline schools should be more competitive this season.




Cascade Conference
For the first time since Archbishop Murphy joined the Cascade Conference a different team took home the title than the Wildcats. Lakewood beat Murphy and won a tiebreaker at the end of the season to take home the hardware.

This year the Cougars have reloaded behind quarterback Justin Peterson but Murphy -- under new coach Bill Marsh -- will be looking to grab the title back. Don't count out King's either as the Knight have QB and BYU-recruit Billy Green and lineman Mason Friedline.
