PORTLAND -- Portland mayoral candidate Jefferson Smith's driving woes continue to deepen.
Just days after it was revealed that Smith has had his driver's license suspended five times, The Oregonian newspaper reports that the candidate is now acknowledging seven suspensions.
Four of the suspensions are for failing to appear in court. He also has seven speeding tickets and a 2004 conviction for driving while suspended.
Smith is on vacation. He has previously acknowledged a bad driving record and said "it's embarrassing."
Smith is a state legislator. His opponent in the November mayoral election is Charlie Hales.
