MONROE -- A 14-year-old boy is in critical condition after being rescued from Lake Tye on Sunday afternoon.

Monroe firefighters performed CPR on the boy. He was rushed first to Valley General Hospital then taken later to Seattle Children's Hospital, Monroe police spokeswoman Debbie Willis said.

The boy was swimming in the lake and was part of an Everett church group outing, Willis said.
