2 hurt in possible DUI crash on Highway 530

ARLINGTON -- Two men were injured in a two-vehicle crash early Sunday morning and police said alcohol is believed to be a factor.
The accident occurred after 3 a.m. on Highway 530, just east of the Arlington city limits.
A 49-year-old Darrington man was driving a Ford pickup truck eastbound when he crossed the center lane and hit a Dodge pickup truck coming the opposite direction, according to the Washington State Patrol. Both vehicles rolled over on the westbound shoulder.
The driver of the Dodge was a 52-year-old Arlington man who was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
The Darrington man had minor injuries and was taken to Cascade Valley Hospital. None of the injuries are believed to be life threatening.
The State Patrol is investigating the crash as a possible vehicular assault because alcohol may have been a factor, Trooper Keith Leary said.
"This crash could potentially have been avoided if the driver didn't get behind the wheel after drinking," Leary said.
