We hate to break it to you, kids, but this is your last week of freedom.
So if you’re looking for some escape from school-supplies shopping and parental pleas to get back on a “school schedule” (translation: go to bed early), the Sno-Isle libraries are here to help:
The Monroe Library is showing the classic 1935 horror film, “The Bride of Frankenstein,” from 6 to 8 tonight. The monster lives and takes a wife.
Refreshments will be served, a drawing held for a copy of the movie, and everyone will be home in time for bed.
The Monroe Library is at 1070 Village Way. Call 360-794-7851 for more information.
The 2011 remake of “Footloose” (PG-13) will be shown from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Lynnwood Library.
Dancer Kenny Wormald takes the 1984 Kevin Bacon role as the teen who challenges the town ordinances against loud music and dancing.
The Lynnwood Library is at 19200 44th Ave. W. Call 425-778-2148 for more information.
Oak Harbor teens can catch a free showing of “The Hunger Games” (PG-13) starring Jennifer Lawrence from 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Oak Harbor Library. Refreshments will be provided and someone will take home a copy of the film.
The Oak Harbor Library is at 1000 SE Regatta Drive. Call 360-675-5115 for more information.
For fun with slime before the real science classes begin, kids of all ages can head to the Marysville Library from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday to mess around with gooey and exploding stuff and other “irresponsible” science experiments, according to the library’s website.
The Marysville Library is at 6120 Grove St. Call 360-658-5000 to reassure your parents it’s safe.
As always, library programs are free. Go to www.sno-isle.org to see other happenings.
