The high school football season kicks off Friday, and we're previewing the action all week on HeraldNet. First up, Wesco 4A:
NORTH
• Lake Stevens rebuilds: The Vikings were a game away from playing for a state title last season. A lot of key players are gone, but they still have high hopes for 2012.
• Mount Vernon returns to Wesco: With the jump to 4A, the team faces a much stiffer challenge this season.
• Capsules: a team-by-team look at the new division.
SOUTH
• Lynnwood's big talent: Andrew Basham will be playing for the University of Washington next season, but he looks ready for Division 1 now.
• Cascade's new approach: After 24 straight games without a win, a new coach starts by instilling a new attitude.
• Capsules: a team-by-team look at the new division.
