A man on a mission to support the Everett Philharmonic

I received a passionate letter today from Roland Van Haeften, a man from England who worked for many years for Boeing.

Van Haeften’s passion is for the Everett Philharmonic Orchestra. After hearing their final concert of last season, Van Haeften said he was “blown away by that performance. It was equally as good as the Seattle Symphony performance i attended a month before.”

So how Van Haeften is channeling his passion and getting the word out about the Everett Philharmonic by forming a sponsoring committee.

The committee’s first task was to kick off the Everett Philharmonic’s new season with a special “Musical Dessert” that is being held at 7 p.m. Sept. 12 in the piano lounge at Washington Oakes, 1717 Rockefeller Ave., Everett.

At this free event, Everett. Pop pianist Richard Dean will be playing just about anything. In addition, members of the Everett Philharmonic Orchestra string quartet will also perform including Patrice Weed Shearer; Katrina Cordi; Cheryl Harris and Cami Davis.

Also EPO conductor Paul Elliott Cobbs will be presenting a preview of the orchestra’s new season of concerts which begins Oct. 6 with a “Night in Madrid,” a concert with a very Latin flair. The opening season performance kicks off with a reception and stage side chat with Cobbs starting at 5:30 p.m. at the Everett Performing Arts Center. For more information on the orchestra’s season go to The Everett Philharmonic or call Cami Davis at 206-270-9729.

At the “Musical Dessert,” Everett Philharmonic Individual and season tickets will be available for sale. The “Musical Dessert” is free and open to the public. Sweets and punch will be served.
