Song of the week: 'Young Blood' by Learning Team

I have a new favorite band in Washington and they are called Learning Team. On Tuesday night, Bellingham band Learning Team played a show at the Anchor Pub with Everett's I Will Keep Your Ghost. This was hands-down the best Tuesday night I have ever had in Everett and $3 well spent.

I had been listening to Learning Team's "Daypack" EP for about a week leading up to the show and even though I really liked what I heard, I wasn't prepared for what I saw when they performed on Tuesday. These guys were so fantastic live that they had 50+ people out on a weeknight all dancing in front of the stage screaming with their hands in the air at the end of each song.

Learning Team spent the night playing beautifully written songs that seemed almost too sincere and perfect to have been crafted by such a young group of guys. They brought the show to a close with their song "Young Blood" while the dance floor full of new fans sang along even though we didn't really know the words. I liked the studio version of this song, but I really fell in love with it after hearing how great it sounds live, and that is why it's the song of the week.

Hear it here.
