The Seattle Folklore Society: And the Phinney Neighborhood Association present its 11th season of folk music concerts at the Phinney Neighborhood Center, 6532 Phinney Ave. N., Seattle. “End of Summer Concert and Ice Cream Social”: 3 p.m. Sept. 9, Everett’s First Presbyterian Church, 2936 Rockefeller Ave. Summer Aire, a group of musicians including singers from the Everett Chorale, First Baptist Church, First Congregational Church, Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Westminster Presbyterian Church, First Presbyterian Church and others will present the sixth annual End of Summer Concert and Ice Cream Social. This year’s concert theme is “Not but PDQ Bach” with selections including “The Seasonings,” “My Bonnie Lass She Smelleth,” “It Was a Lover and His Lass,” “Tobacco is a Wasting Weed,” “Neighbors’ Chorus” and more. “A Musical Dessert”: 7 p.m. Sept. 12 in the piano lounge of Washington Oakes, 1717 Rockefeller Ave., Everett. Pop pianist Richard Dean will be playing along with members of the Everett Philharmonic Orchestra string quartet: Patrice Weed Shearer; Katrina Cordi; Cheryl Harris and Cami Davis; also EPO conductor Paul Elliott Cobbs will be presenting a preview of the orchestra’s new season of concerts which begins Oct. 6. Individual and season tickets will be available for sale. Free and open to the public. Sweets and punch will be served.

Seattle Symphony at Bumbershoot 2012: Seattle Symphony musicians play Sept. 2 at Seattle Center, 305 Harrison St., Seattle, for their second annual Bumbershoot performance featuring chamber pieces by a variety of composers, including Shostakovich, Schnittke, Bach and Piazzolla. Indigo Girls with the Seattle Symphony: This Grammy Award-winning folk duo will perform selections from their latest album, “Beauty Queen Sister,” and other fan favorites including “Galileo,” “Closer to Fine,” and “Power of Two”; 7:30 p.m. Sept. 12. Tickets start at $45.

Early Music Guild International Series: A mix of music performers from around the globe. The new series includes:

Musica Ficta: Oct. 13. A Spanish group of eight voices and brass with works by Cristobal de Morales, Tomas Luis de Victoria and Alonzo Lobo.

Hesperion XXI: Nov. 10. This Spanish ensemble, directed by Jordi Savall, presents a virtual tour on violas da gamba and lute of 16th and 17th-century Europe.
