MALTBY -- A Snohomish County Sheriff's Office dive team discovered two vehicles submerged in Lost Lake near Maltby Friday morning, officials said.

The dive team as well as deputies and fire crews from Snohomish County Fire District 7 were called to the lake around 6:30 a.m. after a witness reported seeing a vehicle go into Lost Lake and two people running from the scene.

Divers quickly found the first vehicle, which had been reported stolen, sheriff's office spokeswoman Shari Ireton said.

During the investigation, the dive unit discovered the second vehicle submerged in the lake, Ireton said. That vehicle had been stripped, but not reported stolen.

Both vehicles have been removed from the lake.
