Prep football: Cascade 20, Shorewood 12

EVERETT -- KJ Brady caught two touchdown passes from quarterback Ryan Lukas and the Cascade defense made a stand on the last play of the game as the Bruins won their first game in 2 1/2 years -- or 24 games -- in first-year coach Joe Cronin's first game.
"It's awesome," Cronin said. "Its about the team. The players work and they've committed and they've believed. Our thing is believe. They believed in each other and they believed in us."
Brady caught two long passes -- for 70 and 65 yards -- to help put Cascade ahead. Then the Bruins held tight on a fourth down pass attempt by Shorewood in the red zone as time expired.
Afterwards, fans stormed the field at Everett Memorial Stadium to celebrate with the players. Well, those who could.
"Some of these kids didn't know how to celebrate," Cronin said.
