The public is invited to join the Snohomish Conservation District for a farm walk-about from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Rott-N-Ridge Ranch, owned by Pam and Dave Grudin in the north Lakewood area.
The Grudin's are renovating their second farm and have added water collection systems, compost bins and native plant hedgerows. They recently went solar, taking their utility bill from $250 to $5 per month.
For a map and directions, register for the Grudin tour at rottnridgefarmtour.eventbrite.com.
For questions, call Snohomish Conservation District at 425-335-5634, ext 4. This tour is partially funded by the Stillaguamish River Clean Water District.

Making Lake Howard clean: Surface Water Management division of Snohomish County is inviting people and neighbors near Lake Howard to an ice cream social.
The event is to inform people how they can help clean up toxic algae.
The event is set from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday on 65th Drive, just north of Lake Howard in the Seven Lakes area.
For more information, call Ellen at 425-314-4830.
