ARLINGTON -- Officials have identified the man killed in a head-on collision on Highway 9 in Arlington last week.

Jesus Isidoro-Sandoval, 26, of Arlington, was northbound on the highway on Aug. 30 in a red Mitsubishi when he crossed the center line and struck a black Nissan Leaf.

It happened just after 3 p.m. near Arlington High School.

Isidoro-Sandoval died at the scene from blunt-force injuries, according to the Snohomish County Medical Examiner's office. His death was ruled an accident.

Four people in the Nissan were injured but are recovering.

The crash remains under active investigation by the Arlington Police Department, city spokeswoman Kristin Banfield said Wednesday.

Detectives suspect Isidoro-Sandoval may have been intoxicated, but test results are not expected for several weeks.
