MOUNTLAKE TERRACE -- Bryan Wahl was sworn onto the City Council earlier this week after being appointed to fill a term that expires next year.
Wahl replaces Michele Robles, who resigned in late June for personal reasons. He has served on the city's planning commission for 14 years and has been vice chairman since 2004.
"I have thoroughly enjoyed serving on the planning commission for the past 14 years, and I am honored to continue my service in Mountlake Terrace by serving on the City Council," Wahl said in a statement.
He said in the statement that he helped establish a vision for the community by having a hand in the city's comprehensive plan and he looks forward to helping move the plan forward. He also said he wants to use the position to help the city's economic vitality and improve the city's quality of life while maintaining a responsible budget.
He is a partner at Government Affairs Strategies, a consulting firm that develops public policy and other political campaigns and strategies, and has also served on the Puget Sound Regional Council's Growth Management Policy Board, the Shoreline Parks and Recreation Board of Commissioners and King County's Youth Services Citizens Advisory Committee.
He has lived in Mountlake Terrace for 15 years.
