Collectibles program

Take a moment to remember the past through collectibles.

Certified appraiser George Higby of 20th Century Ltd. Antiques & Collectibles plans to present a program at 7 p.m. Tuesday highlighting collectibles from the '60s.

The program is geared for adults. It's being held at the Snohomish Library, 311 Maple Ave., Snohomish.

Sailor car wash: Sailors from the Everett-based destroyer USS Momsen are holding a car wash from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at the VFW Old Guard Post 2100, 2711 Oaks Ave. in Everett.

The event is a fundraiser for veterans programs.

Help out: The Washington state Department of Transportation is looking for more than 300 volunteers to help count how many people walk or use their bicycles as a way of transportation.

People are needed in Bothell, Everett and Mountlake Terrace.

Volunteers are needed Sept. 25-27.
