ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Seismologists say a moderate earthquake has occurred in Alaska’s western Aleutian Islands region.
The Alaska Earthquake Information Center said the 5.3 quake struck 11:23 a.m. Sunday. It occurred 41 miles southeast of Shemya Island.
There are no immediate reports the earthquake was felt or caused damage.
