MARYSVILLE -- In a battle of two unbeaten teams, Mountlake Terrace defeated Marysville Pilchuck 3-1 in a back-and-forth nonconference game Tuesday night in Marysville.

Madison Eich led the Hawks (3-0 overall) with nine kills and five digs and senior Casey Hynes added five kills and 15 assists.

"There was a lot of scrimmaging. MP is a pretty good team," said Mountlake Terrace head coach Marietta Snyder. "It was a pretty tight match going back-and-forth. I think we were evenly matched. It could've gone either way. Both teams played pretty dang hard. ... We just happened to win this time."

Snyder said her team wasn't overly nervous to play the previously undefeated Tomahawks (3-1). According to the coach, the Hawks are excited to play regardless of the opponent.

"My team is pretty even keel," Snyder said. "When they're playing a match they're pretty pumped no matter who it is."
