Woman injured in Tuesday's U.S. 2 crash improving

SEATTLE -- An Eastern Washington woman who was critically injured in an accident Tuesday on U.S. 2 near Monroe is recovering.
The woman, 56, from Okanogan County, was listed Wednesday in serious condition in the intensive care unit of Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, according to police and hospital officials.
The woman was a passenger in an eastbound Honda Accord that drove into the trailer of a dump truck that was merging from Fern Bluff Road, police said.
No other serious injuries were reported. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
