Be sure to base votes on the facts

On Friday I opened The Herald, and there it was, a story that covered, really covered, what the Democrats are actually saying. Just the facts being compared to what was said by the left. Sadly, even though those on the left will read the story, and it is very well done and fair to both sides, they will pretend they didn't. Just one fact, Obama said, "We will reform and strengthen Medicare for the long haul, but we'll do it by reducing the cost of health care, not by asking seniors to pay thousands of dollars more." The facts: He's considered raising the eligibility age from 65 to 67 and revamping co-payments and deductibles in a way that could raise costs. Probably a change that's needed, but one the left says they're not going to make, sort of.
This is only one of the important facts that are somewhat different then Obama, Biden and Clinton have said.
I know it won't make a difference in Washington state, but wouldn't it be nice if people really voted the facts and not the rhetoric. The country is in trouble and people need to pay attention. But even with the facts, how many times have you seen a story in The Herald about how the unemployment rate in the county went up, but the same story tries to tell you but we added more jobs. Think about this, In a few months our county's unemployment rate went from what was said to be 7.1 to 8.5 percent. This is even with Boeing hiring a lot of people. For that to happen a lot of people had lose their jobs. Who will get them their jobs back?
All I ask you to do is think. One of the things nice about this country, we all have the right to different opinions. But wouldn't it be nice to see more articles like Friday's so those opinions were based on "the facts"!
