Here’s a roundup of some of the funnier police blotter bits from around the county over the past few weeks. (Most) identifying details have been removed.

Dispatched advised of an open line with sounds of a door dinging, like at a (convenience) store, and people talking about chocolate. Officer spoke to a female who confirmed it was a mis-dial and that she was purchasing something at the (convenience store).
A drunk man caused a disturbance that evening by moaning and howling at passersby.
A man was upset that a woman unfriended him on Facebook.
Three males approached a coffee stand and one of them stole the tip jar. When the male ran away the money fell on the ground. The barista was able to recover the money.
(Caller) reported a parent came in yelling at her because his daughter did not make the varsity team. (The parent) later apologized for his actions.
Malicious mischief. Someone used black ink to write on a vehicle: “this is a nice car.”
The officer was dispatched to a theft complaint. The complainant suspected her ex-boyfriend had taken her journal, but she wasn’t sure when and she wasn’t sure if it was taken here or in Portland or California. The relationship recently ended and the complainant acknowledged they’d lived together and frequently exchanged a variety of personal property. The officer advised the complainant to pursue a civil complaint against her ex-boyfriend if she felt he still had her journal.
Officer responded to the above address regarding a found bicycle. It was determined that the caller’s son had brought a bicycle home from the (local library) and wanted to keep it. The son was directed to return the bicycle to the library and to contact the staff to let them know he had brought it back.
(Caller) reported finding some cigarette butts in the flower bed in her backyard. She requests extra patrol.
(Caller) reported several times that her neighbors were being loud and possibly making fun of her last name by talking in fake Italian accents. (Caller) appeared intoxicated and the complaint was deemed to be unfounded as an officer had remained on scene for several minutes and did not see or hear any violations.
The officers responded to the above area for a report of someone inside a house screaming and yelling. The officers found members of a band, singing.
