BELLINGHAM -- Police in Bellingham say a middle-aged couple ordered $50 worth of food at a Mexican restaurant before they walked out without paying, but this dine-and-dash had an added twist.
Police spokesman Mark Young said an employee of Jalapeños restaurant followed the two, caught up to the woman and told her she forgot to pay. The spokesman said the woman replied that she wasn't about to pay. Young said the man then pulled out a knife with a foot-long blade.
The Bellingham Herald reported that the employee backed off last Friday, got into his car and followed the couple, later spotting a police parking officer and telling her what happened.
Police were unable to find the pair.
