We are crying out for honesty

To candidates for public office: We, the American people, are crying out for honesty and integrity in each other, and in our leaders.
Ronald Reagan made a big impression upon first seeing him interviewed during his first presidential campaign in 1980.
Why? Because as one observed and listened to his responses to questions, it became obvious that here was a man with confidence -- not because he had all the answers -- but because he was well informed, and was not afraid to declare his views on the issues -- exactly as he believed.
He was honest -- and won the American people.
Truman also. He truly believed that his vision for America was the best one, and was not afraid to say so.
He was honest -- and won the American people.
As citizens, we recognize that our nation is in danger, and that each of us has an individual responsibility to do our part to defend, protect, and make it a better place.
Can we again be a nation of citizens who trust one another?
Most importantly, do we dare fail to acknowledge our dependence upon Almighty God, and the incredible favour he has shown us?
