Defensive driving refreshers for seniors

The AAA Driver Improvement Program is accepting reservations for a refresher course on defensive driving for seniors that takes place from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Sons of Norway-Normanna Hall, 2725 Oakes Ave., Everett.
The course gives guidance for accident prevention and qualifies drivers age 55 and older for auto insurance premium discounts.
Registration (required) is $16 per person. To enroll, call 800-462-3728.
Swedish Hospital in Edmonds is offering a two-day AARP Driver Safety course from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday and Tuesday.
The eight-hour class, called driver retraining, is for those 50 and older. A certificate is awarded on completion and drivers older than 55 may be eligible for insurance discounts.
The class costs $12 with an AARP membership and $14 for nonmembers. Register by calling 206-386-2502 or go online to swedish.org/classes.
