Run silent, run deep: The U.S. Navy has dismissed a commander of a Connecticut-based nuclear sub because he faked his own death to end an affair with a mistress. Investigators learned that the officer had sent his mistress an email in which he posed as a co-worker and told her that he had died.
The sub commander went even further, firing off a torpedo tube stuffed with clothes, oil and debris to convince her he was dead.
