Paine Field

Planes, benefits are a privilege

SHARE: facebook Twitter icon Linkedin icon Google+ icon Email icon |  PRINTER-FRIENDLY  |  COMMENTS
In response to the letter writer who complains about his "privilege" to watch, and hear planes fly over his house. (Wednesday, "The privilege of more jet noise.") His comment about "no noise" when he bought his house in 1993 -- come on, who is he trying to kid? Boeing has been at Paine Field a lot longer than 1993, and if he bought a home near an airport and expected to not hear any noise he's living in some kind of dream world. He is right about one thing though, he should feel privileged to live, watch, and listen to some of the best planes in the world, and also know that Boeing provides wonderful jobs to thousands of workers in the Puget Sound area. Some of them might even be neighbors.
