Lynnwood boy arrested after espresso stand robbed
Police caught up with the boy as he returned to school at Meadowdale High School, police spokeswoman Shannon Sessions said.
Beverly Elementary and Meadowdale elementary, middle and high schools were put into lockdown for about an hour Friday during the commotion. No other students were injured or in danger, officials said.
The robbery was reported about 9:30 a.m. near the intersection of 168th Street SW and 52nd Avenue W., Sessions said. The boy reportedly flashed a knife at the barista and demanded cash before he ran away.
The boy is a freshman at the high school, Sessions said.
He was arrested for investigation of robbery. He was expected to be booked into the Denney Juvenile Justice Center in Everett.
No weapons were found on the boy at the time of arrest.
Police believe the boy may have been involved in another robbery reported about 1:30 p.m. Thursday at a nail salon in the area.
