Heroin addict steals mom's money, grandma's jewelry
That's what happened to a young Everett man early Thursday morning.
Sadly, his arrest report reads like a textbook example of how people with addictions can hurt those who love them most.
According to court papers, the man, 19, and his girlfriend had been living with his mother in Everett. They're usually homeless.
The man allegedly stole his mother's debit card and made $745 in cash withdrawals to buy heroin.
His mother confronted him, and he apologized and gave the card back.
Then grandma's ring went missing.
The ring was recovered at a Bothell loan shop, where it'd been sold by the girlfriend. She told police that he'd forged her name, but the loan shop said otherwise.
The man was booked into jail Thursday for investigation of a host of financial fraud and identity theft-type crimes.
It sounds like girlfriend's still in the wind.
At least they have each other.
