LYNNWOOD — A Lynnwood police officer has returned home from the hospital after being seriously injured in a struggle with a suspect Aug. 26.
Officer Ryan Hoirup, 28, is doing better and going through physical therapy, police spokeswoman Shannon Sessions said Thursday.
Hoirup was injured while attempting to arrest a fleeing felony warrant suspect near 196th Street SW. The suspect fought back, and both men fell down an 18-foot embankment.
Hoirup suffered a broken hip and other injuries and was taken to a Seattle trauma center. The other man wasn’t seriously injured and was arrested for investigation of assault.
