Published:
SPOKANE -- Spokane County sheriff's deputies have taken reports of 44 copper wire thefts since July in Spokane Valley and unincorporated Spokane County.
The sheriff's office says the thefts have costs contractors, phone and power companies thousands of dollars. The thefts of power lines also are dangerous and knock customers out of service.
Deputies are asking people to report any suspicious activity around utility poles and cell phone towers.
