Monroe volleyball team's 'plan of attack' key in win over Snohomish
Melina Seabrook led the Bearcats with nine kills and two aces.
"Melina really led the team (tonight)," said Monroe head coach April Munoz. "She really went on a serving roll with several aces, and really helped us stay within our plan of attack and get them out of their system."
Seabrook was assisted in the victory by DD Latimore, who finished with 20 assists
Munoz said the Bearcats' "plan of attack," like many other teams in Wesco have had this season, was to keep the ball away from Panthers junior standout Lanesha Reagan.
"Lanesha has incredible leaping ability," added Munoz. "We did the best we could tonight to keep the ball away from her, as any opponent in our league would."
The strategy seemed affective in carrying Monroe to victory -- Reagan still managed to finish with 16 kills and 12 digs -- although Munoz mentioned that her team seemed to be a little nervous in front of the huge Shorewood crowd.
"They're our crosstown rival," said Munoz. "They held a prep rally, it was their homecoming week, so this was huge for us to go into their gym and come out with a victory."
