Front Porch: Spirits of Snohomish tour

The Spirits of Snohomish Distillery Walk and After Party on Saturday includes storytelling about historic Snohomish's "spirited past."
Proceeds from the business-sponsored event benefit the Kla Ha Ya Days Festival and the Snohomish Boys & Girls Club.
A tour of 10 distilleries runs from 4-7 p.m., costs $8 and includes five tastings. Additional tastings are $1 each. Then, starting at 7 p.m., entertainment with live music, beer, wine and cocktails kicks off. The cost is $15, including two beer or wine drinks. Attend both events and save $3.
Check in at The Second Street Cabin, 1010 Second St.
The after party will be at the Waltz Building, 116 Avenue B.

A doggone good listener: Plan to read aloud to a loving canine listener at the Snohomish Library at 11 a.m. Saturday.
The community-based literacy program, Reading with Rover, helps kids strengthen reading skills and improve reading confidence. The event is free, but children must be accompanied by a caregiver.

Send info on tree farms: To help our readers get ready for Christmas, The Herald is putting together a list of area tree farms.
If you would like us to include your tree farm, send information to astewart@heraldnet.com or call 425-339-3037 by Nov. 1.
Include hours, location, tree types, prices, phone number and website link.
