Whidbey Island

Beach property only benefits few

SHARE: facebook Twitter icon Linkedin icon Google+ icon Email icon |  PRINTER-FRIENDLY
Regarding the Tuesday article, "Whidbey beachfront saved": Whidbey Island beachfront saved for who? Not you or I, only the local residents will benefit from the use of tax dollars to help secure this property. Not accessible by road, it can only be used at low tide. The fact that current property owners were said to be open to allowing the public to trespass is subject to change. I wonder if the property owners are aware that should a trespasser be injured, they could sue. This waterfront purchase using public tax dollars is to the benefit of a few local residents, not for the good of the general public. Oh what webs we weave.
